If you are looking for casual everyday sandals try @Aldo. They tend to release funky and vibrant styles with a splash of colour over the spring/summer season.
Where can I buy a large disco ball?
Have you tried @Party World? I always go to that place for all my essential party needs because I literally find everything in one spot instead of running around the city. Their prices are reasonable too.
Where can I find nail salons?
Try the @N Bar. It's a more girly and upbeat nail salon. I find it more of a place to get ready before a big night instead of a relaxing kind of day spa.

Have you tried @Borders yet in their tourism section? I am sure you will find an abundance of different styled maps and tour guides for Dubai and the UAE there.
Where can I find a good sushi bar?
I have only heard great things about @Manga Sushi - مانجا سوشي. It has authentic Japanese cuisine, with a manga theme , giving the restaurant more culture and a unique twist to your eating experience. They also have an all you can eat sushi nights on Sunday and Tuesday for only 150 AED.
Where can I get my ears pierced?
I know that the @Transformbody Ladies Center does it for a fairly good price and for people of all ages. However, I think it's a female only beauty parlour.

Check out @Musicians Warehouse Dubai. I know they have an online store as well. You can probably find a great selection there for a lower price since it's a warehouse.
Where can I find iPads on promotion/cheap?
I would try www.dubizzle.com or the GITEX events that occur I believe twice a year in Dubai at the @Novotel / World Trade Centre. GITEX has a huge exhibition and competitor brands are trying to sell as much as they can so sometimes you can even win the iPad through a draw! Usually I find that Apple lowers their prices on their products in the summer before new products are introduced in the Fall. Hope this helps!

I am not much of a coffee drinker, but my parents loved the Americano coffee served at the @French Bakery المخبز الفرنسي. You can even buy the coffee itself and take it home to make.

Try @Dar Al Ber Society - Charity ! Great place to donate all kind of things to the less fortunate.

Have you tried @Borders or @Art Materials ? I am sure you can find Faber Castell merchandise there.
Where can I make customized mugs?
If by customization you mean to change the colour and label on the mug, there are great online websites in Dubai that allow you to do so. My personal fav is http://goo.gl/2D0G1. They have different shapes, sizes, and colours to choose from, and then you can decide what message/image you want placed on the mug itself. I also refer to this Dubai based website for any other of my personal customization/engravement needs.
Where can I buy a Polaroid/Instant camera?
Have you tried @Virgin Megastore yet? They have always have cool vintage gadgets there, however it may be a little pricey.
Where can I have the best pancakes?
If you want to try berber style pancakes, try @Almaz by Momo . They are drenched in honey but still very light. Something more unique to the traditional American pancake.
