Love @Franklin Cafe for this! Great food and not over the top expensive. Excellent scene too - music, atmosphere, waitstaff is great. Can't go wrong with @Franklin Cafe!
Where can I find a "no frills" dive bar?
Ooh, this is tough because there are so many but @Sligo Pub is probably my favorite. Located in Davis Square, Somerville, this place is DEFINITELY no frills. Cheap beer, and a great juke box to boot. Be aware that it is cash only (so old school!).

My favorite spot for cupcakes is @Kickass Cupcakes in Davis Square. They have a HUGE selection and their cupcakes are delish!
