Where can I go to play indoor basketball without having to pay for an expensive membership?
You can play at schools that have courts and rent them for an hourly fee. Check out the @New English School . I still think it would be cheapest for you to play on an outdoor court because they are free, like the ones @Al Hussein Gardens
Where can I find a nice affordable place to sit and hangout with a nice view to go with my family?
@Al Hussein Gardens (where the Automobile Museum and children's museums are) is a nice picnic area. @King Hussein Sports City (or youth city) is nice for picnics too but does not have a scenic view (both are free entry). Kids would like @Prince Hashim Birds Park but no scenic view and the fee is cheap (20 qirsh per adult). @Wild Jordan Center is nice but quite expensive and not too kid-friendly.
Where can I go outside for a barbecue in a good clean place with good service?
@Al Hussein Gardens numerous available places to sit in, football fields, playgrounds and cafes too..
Where can I walk my dog?
@Al Hussein Gardens - It's beautiful and there's enough space for your dog to run around. Cats are a bit tough to take anywhere. I've never seen a cat on a leash..

Well I'd suggest an open space like a park or something. If you don't have any near you, you can go to @Al Hussein Gardens (I think that's the name)

@Al Hussein Gardens - What about it, I know it's not very classy but children can have so much fun there in different activities.
