Wadi Mujib

@Wadi Mujib is a high-up valley with streams of the Jordan River pouring down into the Dead Sea. The journey starts by walking through the narrow gorge of the valley, with big and small waterfalls flowing down from both sides of the mountain rocks. This experience can’t be put into words no matter how hard you try.

@Wadi Mujib Wadi Mujib Siq is considered to be one of the best and most unique hiking excursions in Amman, offering beautiful canyons pathways, views of rivers, and finalizing the hike by swimming through the water. The best few ways to get to this incredible natural hike are via taxi, driving yourself, or even better, hiring a group leader or joining a group tour.

@Wadi Mujib there are a number of pools, streams and small rapids to walk through, wade, swim and climb up & down, including a waterfall at the end of the trail. You will definitely get wet, so wear clothes which can get wet, and wear water shoes, you will be climbing, wading and walking through water, and it is a rocky terrain.

@Wadi Mujib Mujib Biosphere Reserve. If you visit between April and October you can hike the Mujib Wadi following a rather cooling water trail, taking care not to get your camera wet as you snap some of the 220 species enjoying time in this Biosphere Reserve. It’s a breeding ground for birds of prey such as Bonelli’s eagle and the rare lesser kestrel, and you will also see kestrels soaring, white storks posing and sparrowhawks preying. Smaller birds include wheatears, blackstarts and Tristram’s starling.

@Wadi Mujib Mujib Chalets’ remote waterfront location means food options are limited, so pack a cooler of snacks. It’s best to rent a car, (preferably a small SUV, since the road to Mujib Chalets can be a bit rough)
