There are free football pitches between living areas like for example @Al Bada'a area has an empty ground with two goals on it's sides. Not really a football pitch but can do the job. It's more of a beach football with all the sand.
Other living areas might have better football pitches as i heard @Al Qusais area has one.
Or you can contact schools and book their football pitches but that would be for money not free.

@Al Safa Park , @Zabeel Park , they're all good parks to play football at.
@Al Wasl Park , many of them around dubai you just have to find the nearest and in your opinion best looking.

Try out the park in @The Lakes, they have a huge field where athletes come together three times a week (Sundays, Wednesdays, Fridays) and play football. If you don't feel like playing football, they also have a tennis and basketball court.

You can join a team at either @Al Ahli Club or @Al Wasl Club . They are for fun and I think they have a league and inter club games
